I always knew they existed but it was one of the things that I rarely heard anything about other than the odd ferry trip advert on tv. It was today when I was browsing the web for reasonably priced holidays. I searched through dozens of pages of flights & accomodation with so many different companies & providers. To name a couple there was a fortnight stay for two in Corfu priced at £520 and a 10 night stay for 2 Aduts and 2 Children in Alcudia for £850. Definitely competitive prices for a holiday in exotic weather but in my opinion the resorts themselves weren’t alot to shout about. This made me want to look elsewhere and onto the Cruise Ship Holidays section of the last minute deals. I was stunned when I found around 100 pages of last minute cruise holidays. They had everything ranging from a 14 day cruise across the atlantic passing through all of the major carribean destinations and upper South America to a 10 week break for two covering the globe all below £420. I was also very impressed with the range of different sight seeing and tours of all the continents. I went on to read reviews about cruise ship holidays and some of the associated companies and was surprised to find the amount of positive feedback on peoples experiences.
Obviously there was the odd one that you see where there has been bad experiences but nowhere near to the volume of complaints you would find on a hotel review site. I think it’s about time I chose my dream destination and packed my bags ready for a break in the sea. I’ll definitely be looking for a last minute cruise deal though, the prices are so much more competitive than than the typical book well in advance methods. Having said that you do find the occasional deal and promotion in your regular holiday brochure, however it’s always a deal on a certain holiday and nothing like a fair discount on the holiday that you want.
